THANK YOU

Client: Swingzy      My Role: Everything but the music

A follow-up to Life, the previous video we made together. Same band, different energy.

The shoot had almost nothing going for us: no tripod head, a freezing attic, one cast member down with a cold. What was supposed to be a clean shoot turned into an improvised, handheld scramble. The footage swung with a relaxed, awkward charm. Something between Kings of Convenience and lo-fi noir — which turned out to be exactly what the song needed.

The window

The window in the scene took the most time. I built the full 3D setup from scratch in After Effects, complete with a moving cityscape behind it to match the handheld camera drift. The real challenge wasn’t the design, it was tracking. I manually tracked the shot in After Effects and rotoscoped parts of the footage to get it to sit correctly. The most labor-intensive part of the piece by far.

Before & After some VFX and color grading.

SHOWDOWN DUBROVNIK

Client: Sputnik Jack      My Role: Poster

It was designed for an early short film project that grew too ambitious and was eventually shelved. A composite built in Photoshop from a freeze frame that started the whole idea, with the film’s cast layered into the background.

The project never got made, but the poster survived as a prop — and ended up on the wall in Thank You. It also appears above the bed in Part 4 of XenoGotchi, a small continuity across projects separated by years.
